While gardening has been a huge part of our day to day over the last 20+ years, figuring out what's native has been lots of research and cross referencing. What plants are beneficial to our local pollinators? What are the soil and light requirements? Do they spread by rhyizomes or by clumping? So many things to consider when reintroducing these critical flora back into our landscapes. That's why I've created this page. A bible of sorts for all things native to our zone 7 here in North Carolina.
One of things I find so intriguing about discovering native species is that I'm ALWAYS learning something new. If you are checking out this page and think there's more I can add to make it easier to navigate please let me know. I would love to think everyone who's come to this page will introduce at least 1 native plant into their landscape. For the bees, for the butterflies, and for the beauty of native flora.
